American Trails - to Dive For

If there's one thing I love [to write about], it's dive bars.

American Trails Magazine is a print publication that aligns with my heart: its focus on people, places, and food all over America presents readers with a real sense of what's to be discovered off the beaten path. Years of translating articles from the road (see my translation portfolio) made me hungry for some reporting of my own.

On my assignments for this magazine, with readers in both Europe and North America, I have gotten to cover craftspeople in the Blue Ridge Mountains, careened down winding roads in West Virginia, and crafted a neighborhood guide in my own Brooklyn backyard. Always with the focus that people tell you what a place is like, and that there is always more to discover if you dare to take an unplanned turn or two.
